Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how DrillFit ("we", "us", "the app") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the DrillFit mobile application. By using DrillFit, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address (and basic profile info if you sign in with Google or Apple) to create and secure your account.
- Fitness & nutrition data you enter. Workouts, sets, weights, body-weight logs, food and meal entries, rankings, and goals that you record in the app.
- Apple Health (HealthKit) data. With your explicit permission, we read and/or write data such as active energy, workouts, and body weight. This data powers features inside the app only. It is never used for advertising and is never sold.
- Community content. Posts, comments, reactions, and follow relationships you create in the in-app community feed.
- AI Coach conversations. When you use the AI Coach, the messages you send and relevant context from your training data are processed to generate responses. See "Third-party services" below.
- Diagnostics. Crash reports and basic performance data (via Firebase Crashlytics) to help us fix bugs and improve stability.
How we use your information
- To provide core features: tracking, charts, rankings, nutrition logging, the AI Coach, and the community feed.
- To sync your data across your devices and back it up.
- To diagnose crashes and improve app reliability and performance.
- To respond to your support requests.
Third-party services
DrillFit relies on the following services, each with its own privacy practices:
- Google Firebase (authentication, database, storage, crash reporting) — stores your account and app data.
- Anthropic — powers the AI Coach. When you send a message to the AI Coach, your message and relevant training context are sent through our server to Anthropic to generate a response. This data is not used to train models.
- Nutrition data providers (USDA FoodData Central, Spoonacular) — used to look up food and recipe information when you search. Your queries are sent to retrieve results.
Account & data deletion
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time, directly in the app: Settings → Delete Account. After a confirmation step, this removes your account and your data — workouts, nutrition, progress, rankings, community posts, and profile — from our systems. This action is irreversible.
Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your data is removed as described above. Some records may be retained where required for safety, security, or legal compliance (for example, abuse reports filed about content).
Children's privacy
DrillFit is rated 12+ and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.
Your choices
- You control HealthKit permissions in iOS Settings and can revoke them anytime.
- You can edit or delete individual entries in the app.
- You can delete your entire account and data as described above.
